Cardinal Collins invites us to the 12th Annual Education Mass
June 17, 2013
Dear Friend in Education,
I continue to give thanks for the valuable contributions of catholic educators throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto. As we celebrate the Year of Faith, it is most appropriate that our young people have the opportunity to see in our educators a personal witness and example of faith in action. Be assured of my continued support and prayers for all those with this important vocation.
I would like to invite you to join me once again for the 12th Annual Education Mass as we affirm and celebrate the important role you play in strengthening the journey of our student population. The 12th Annual Education Mass will take place Wednesday, August 28, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Basilica in Toronto. We will gather for the Eucharist, giving thanks for our abundant blessings and praying for the success of a new school year.
Catholics from across the Archdiocese of Toronto who are involved in education are welcome to attend, from the pre-school to the post-secondary level, whether in Catholic, public or private institutions. Our celebration is for teachers and all those who, in many diverse roles, support their vocation.
Following Mass, you are invited to join us for a meal and fellowship with an opportunity to continue our reflection (see the accompanying flyer for additional details). We are making you aware of the event at this time with the hope that you will mark the date in your calendar. Please feel free to circulate this invitation to your colleagues as appropriate.
I look forward to our time together on August 28 and hope that you will be able to attend. I am most grateful for the many Catholic educators throughout our archdiocese who serve as ambassadors of Christ for our family of faith. May you continue to evangelize
Thomas Cardinal Collins
