Fr. Angus MacDougall Award for Excellence in Family Life Education goes to someone who demonstrates many of these characteristics:
• An Ontario Catholic family life educator
• One who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:
– Outstanding contributions to family life education at the provincial level.
-Care and commitment to engaging and supporting student learning in family life education
-Knowledge and demonstration of best practices in family life education
-Innovations in the practice of family life education
-On-going contributions to the field of family life education beyond their own classroom
-Leadership in initiating and sustaining opportunities for the growth of quality family life education with colleagues
-Continuous updating and improving of personal practice as a family life educator

Archbishop Philip Pocock Award for Excellence in Religious Education goes to someone who demonstrates many of these characteristics:

  • An Ontario Catholic school religious educator
  • One who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:
    • Care and commitment to engaging and supporting student learning in religious education and faith formation
    • Knowledge and demonstration of best practices in religious education and faith formation
    • Innovations in the practice of religious education and faith formation
    • On-going contributions to the field of religious education and faith formation beyond their own classroom at a provincial level
    • Leadership in initiating and sustaining opportunities for the growth of quality religious education and faith formation with colleagues
    • Continuous updating and improving of personal practice as a religious educator.

Seeds of Hope New Teacher Award for Excellence in Religious and Family Life Education goes to someone who demonstrates many of these characteristics:

  • An Ontario Catholic school religious and/or family life educator
  • Within the first five years of their teaching career after receiving their Ontario Teaching Certificate
  • One who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:
    • Care and commitment to engaging and supporting student learning in religious education and faith formation
    • provides an ongoing and intentional invitation for their students, their families and the staff to hear the invitation and to encounter Christ just as the disciples did on the Road to Emmaus.
    • possesses community mindedness by involving students in social justice/social engagement.
    • models gratitude and instills hope in the community.
    • articulates to their students the vision of who the Catholic learner is becoming by exemplifying the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations in their journey to date.
    • participates in the liturgical life of the school community/parish.
    • seeks out professional and spiritual growth activities.
    • strives to keep Jesus at the centre of their school community and at the centre of their own life.
