Fr. Paul Chetcuti of Malta has an interesting article about the state of Maltese religious education in today’s Times of Malta. Many of the challenges being experienced in Malta are those being experienced in Ontario Catholic schools.
Another feature of the article is the promotion of workshops by Prayer Spaces in Schools, a worldwide ecumenical movement emanating from the UK that has specific strategies for creating prayer sanctuaries within our schools. While most of our high schools have chapels, Many elementary schools would benefit from having designated sacred space set aside for prayer.
