Engaging the Soul Through the Arts from the Catholic Curriculum Corporation

Engaging the Soul through the ARTS provides elementary teachers with concrete lessons on how to bring the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations to life in the Arts. Mentor texts, similar to those in the 2009 CCC Robust Thinking and the Ontario Graduate Expectations, are used to link the overall expectations of the Arts and the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations. Teachers are provided with activities by which students are invited to create, present, reflect and respond, while exploring form and cultural perspectives. Primary, junior and intermediate teachers can use this rich Catholic resource to engage their students in Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts lessons – an invitation to Engage the Soul through the ARTS!
