Here’s a quick update on items that might interest you or you may have missed.

  1. CARFLEO is pleased to announce that Bishop Daniel Miehm of Peterborough Diocese has stepped aside as CARFLEO Liaison Bishop with the Association of Catholic Bishops of Ontario (ACBO). We thank him for his wisdom and support over the past few years. The ACBO has informed us that our new Liaison Bishop will be Bishop Wayne Lobsinger of the Diocese of Hamilton. Welcome Bishop Lobsinger!

2. When Faith Meets Pedagogy will be held as a virtual event in 2021 on October 21, 22 & 23


3. The Institute for Catholic Education have released a series of eco placemats as announced in our earlier post. They have subsequently released support materials on the ICE website.


4. CARFLEO have posted video components of our recent retreat. Praying In, With and For Creation: A Spiritual Integration of Laudato Si’.


5. During our retreat the winner’s of the CARFLEO Awards were announced. Patricia Del Ben of the Halton CDSB was awarded the Archbishop Pocock Award for outstanding contributions to Ontario Religious Education. Nancy Davie of York CDSB was awarded the Fr. Angus McDougall Award for outstanding contributions to Ontario Family Life Education. It’s not too early to start to think about outstanding educators for these awards for 2022.
