As Lent approaches, the CCCB has again produced a series of reflections for Ash Wednesday and the Sundays during Lent.  Each Monday, a new video will be released for the upcoming Sunday on the website of the CCCB.

We are grateful to Bishop Gerard Bergie of the Diocese of St. Catharines and Msgr. Marcel Damphousse, Archbishop of Ottawa, for providing these reflections for us.

“In his recent encyclical, Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis calls upon us to live the love that would make us “one great family, where all of us can feel at home”; a love that “exudes compassion and dignity.” (Fratelli Tutti, 62.)

With the entire human family suffering from COVID-19, the Share Lent campaign invites us to share love and express solidarity with our sisters and brothers in the Global South, whose vulnerabilities are being exacerbated by the pandemic. Remembering the inherent dignity of all human beings, let us heed the Pope’s reminder that “justice and solidarity, are not achieved once and for all; they have to be realized each day.” (Fratelli Tutti, 11.)”
