WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
If you have a strong commitment to Catholic education and want to expand your knowledge of contemporary religious and family life education issues, then this conference is for you! The theme of the 2019 CARFLEO Conference flows out of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’. Having learned about the giftedness and culture of the indigenous people in our last two conferences, we want to bridge that knowledge with Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home, Mother Earth. Our keynote speaker Sister Mary Rowell, csj is a lecturer at Regis College. She also ministers at the Villa St. Joseph Ecology and Spirituality Centre, in Cobourg Ontario. There will be two workshops offered before the conference begins. One will showcase the new Grade 6 Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ religious education program. A second workshop will be a visio divina experience led by Les Miller. It will be a gentle way to enter into the experience of the conference as well as a practical exploration of a powerful teaching strategy. Following the pre-conference workshops CARFLEO will hold its Annual General Meeting.
