March 23rd-24th, 2017
CARFLEO CONFERENCE
Queen of the Apostles Retreat Centre
With the release of the Truth and Reconciliation summary report (June 2015), we are reminded of our responsibility as Catholic Educators to respond to the Call to Action. At the same time, Pope Francis reminds us of the importance of listening and caring for one another: “Mostly, people are looking for someone to listen to them. Someone willing to grant them time, to listen to their dramas and their difficulties. This is what I call the ‘apostolate of the ear,’ it is important.” This listening is the first step towards creating a culture of trust and hope. How can we create a culture, in our hearts, communities and classrooms, where we recognize: the dignity of every person; the values that are deeply rooted in our First Nations peoples, and, show special care for peoples of Indigenous communities? Be a part of the dialogue!
